It's believed this shot was taken from outside turn 2 with Dan hard on the Gas.  Dan always had pristine equipment, in part due to his successful auto body business He owned in Pittsfield.  Dan Sr. son, Dan Dudley Jr. followed in his fathers footsteps in more ways than one, as he was a hard charging 358 racer at the valley in the 80’s and currently works for an auto body shop.
