The Back Story:

Top Photo:

Here Dick is pictured with the Pulsifer owned, Terry's Shell sponsored 731.

Second Photo:

Dick Hansen quietly racked up a very respectable 7 big block feature wins in his tenure at LV, the last, in 1981 behind the wheel of Bruce Berger’s #26 Olsen Eagle. In this photo, from left is Matt Higgins, Dick, Andrea Berger, Bruce Berger, ????, Lil Brian Berger and Buddy Hall.

Third Photo:

Dick in his all to familiar Dutchess County Diesel Special #34.

Fourth Photo: Mystery Driver # 33

Dick Hansen celebrates a victory at the short lived Midstate speedway in Morris, N.Y.  Dick piloted the Bruce Carmen owned #23 (Mert Hulbert also had success in the Carmen 23’s) & is flanked by starter Marty Beberwyck.

Fifth Photo: Dick Hansen scores a big victory in the modified division aboard the familiar Ottomobile #32.  Dick was also doing double duty wheeling the Dutchess #34 small block as well.  With the big drag tires being utilized, I’d say this was around ’78.

(from Left to Right) Dick Hansen (driver), Denny Raspuzzi (engine builder), Gary Funk (part owner), Bob Harp (pit crew).

Sixth Photo: Yet another of the numerous cars Dick drove at Lebanon and elsewhere in a long racing career. I believe Hansen owned this car.

Additional Comments:  We went with a 4 part component to Dick's Mystery Driver photo, and I knew the driver and flagger would be easy, but the owner and track was sure to be tougher.  Only 1 got all 4 correct of:
Dick Hansen
Marty Beberwyck
Bruce Carmen
and the track was short lived Midstate!

That person was our regular Arnie Ainsworth.

We are looking for information and photos about the Valley's history.
