The Back Story:

Top Photo:

Here’s a great shot of Gary hanging out the #141, his first attempt at the DIRT legal division in this pretty unique paint job P.I.G. #141.  The following year, Gary slipped behind the seat belts of the Kevin Passmann #704 that was vacated by long time chauffer Dave Chenette.

Gary’s boy John, at the ripe old age of 17, has continued the tradion of racing under the P.I.G. racing team banner (an acronym for, “Pride.Intergity.Guts.”), already winning championships in the kart division and mini-sprint division at Whip City Speedway in Westfield, MA.  Look to hear from the younger Virgilio in the very near future.

Long time standout championship drag racer and crew member on Russ Blake’s #29 team, Gary Virgilio decided to see what all the fuss was with this dirt surface and taking left hand turns was.  Gary purchased this Brightbill/Krietz chassis car from Bruce Berger #26 (Can be seen under the Dick Hansen page), and gave the oval track a try.  While wetting his feet of the dirt track side of things, This effort didn’t work out for Gary and he quickly sold out, before coming back with a vengeance in the small block SS class, racking up numerous wins and championships along the way.
