We were corrected on a few details about our friend JB by his
brother George. JB actually towed up
from Golden’s Bridge NY every week to compete at Lebanon Valley, not PA. I can say from a first hand experience,
they were some very fine people, and couldn’t find a more family oriented pit
crew in the LV pits. JB, his wife Laurie
and sister Ruth, George, JB’s mother Gloria and her Mother, and friends were always
in the pits with the nice looking Tobias #72’s. The Winters family had a strong bond to the Tobias family, and
remember them telling us to look out for a 16 year old “Little Toby”, a
spitting image of his fathers talents, and from what I can see, they weren’t
too far off at all.
