The Back Story:

Gentleman racer Johnny Hankamp and his self owned #29 out of Pleasant Valley N.Y.  On August 17th, 1991, John had a night every racer who ever tows to the High Banks dreams of, when the driver of the moderately self funded team scored his first and only victory at Lebanon Valley.

If memory serves me correctly, it was a night where one man’s pain, was another man’s gain, as Roger Horvath, looking also for his first career LV big block win,  had the lead with just a few laps to go, but mechanical failure sidelined him securing the popular win for Hankamp.

Second Photo: Jim from color tricks custom paint and lettering stumbled upon our site and has now been cool enough to submit some material for the site, which is from the library of some of the many cars he has lettered at LV.  After Santa brought him a new scanner for X-mas, and getting the bugs worked out, he sent us this shot of modified pilot John Hankamp, breaking tradition of his familiar #29 for a one year deal he signed with WRWD country 107.3,  hence the reason for the numeral change.
