1983, and 38 years old, John Maxon & friends had finally completed this immaculate #83 in August and the expectations were high. Their excitement was short lived as John would later lose his life the following week in this very car of an apparent heart attack during the pre-race warm-ups.
John’s son Eddie carried on the family tradition, first in the street stock class & then moving up and winning a couple of sportsman features in his very own #83.
A great family, led by John’s wife Faye, continued to support Lebanon Valley in every way.
John is missed by many.
