A very young Paul Gilardi
ponders the evening activities as he readies for the upcoming sportsman heat
races. Paul got involved after his
then girlfriend and future wife Tonya brought Paul to the races as a teenager, and He was hooked. He jumped into the newly formed sportsman
class with both feet, purchasing this former Maynard
Forrette Troyer chassis and having Northeastern Racing
Supply build him the motor.
Paul managed to stay away from the high banks throughout almost the
entire 90’s, until He purchased another sportsman car late in 1999 and
returned to the seat for the decades final few races. Paul gradually moved up to the big blocks,
recording his first ever career win in 2005.
