The Back Story:

Though I grew up watching Tommy Athanas run, I personally really don’t know too much about him.  All I can say, as a kid growing up, I liked his cars because it had what looked like a hybrid cross breed of the Road Runner and the “Thrush” shifter mascot painted on the side of the car….and that was way cool.

Tommy ran this straight 6 cylinder against all the V-8 small blocks back in the day.  As LVC visitor Bert Poland mentioned, Athanas is running either this car, or one very similar to on the northeast vintage racing series nowadays.
