The Back Story:

2nd generation hot shoe Tom Purdy of Bennington VT carries on the family racing tradition in the sportsman division back in 1994.  Tom’s father is of course the late Barry Purdy, who won the limited sportsman championship in 1969, and lost his life to an non-racing related accident very shortly thereafter.

Tom started his own career in the street stock division in the early 90’s on the CVRA circuit, posting a few wins.  Later on he purchased the former Jeff Heath 23 for an assault on the Lebanon valley sportsman division, posting many top finishes, but never reached the ever elusive victory lane.

According to sources, Tom currently runs the family owned LeBlanc’s Auto Salvage in Bennington NY.
